OTTAWA Sign

This project involved reinterpreting the temporary OTTAWA sign installed in the Byward Market in 2017 into a more permanent and durable version of this popular feature. The new version was originally conceived as being on precast moveable footings, but as support for the project grew within the City of Ottawa, the scope was modified to include a permanent footing and DMX programmable internal RGB LED lighting that could be changed to support events and seasons.

The design team developed the physical design for the letters in steel and aluminum, designed a large footing to support the installation, and created a detailed plan for the lighting equipment. The design team was fully involved in the commissioning phase to ensure the successful delivery of the project within budget and on deadline.
