Outdoor Art Mounting System

An innovative outdoor art mounting system developed for use in the courtyard system in Ottawa’s market area. The quiet and intimate courtyards are an ideal environment for displaying artwork, but annual drilling of anchors into the walls of heritage buildings was discouraged. We developed this outdoor art mounting system to be flexible for a wide range of artwork sizes on a pre-determined grid of permanently installed anchors. Three sizes of brackets are available, each with a +/- 6″ side-to-side adjustment to allow for fine-tuning of spacing. After some initial prototyping, the system has been used for annual displays during the summer tourist season.

The display shown in the photos was designed by Intu to showcase the Kingston Prize winners in 2014.
