Gatineau Park Thresholds

Development of a system of entrance and threshold treatments for Gatineau Park, a 360 square kilometre natural wilderness area located just north of Ottawa-Gatineau. This project was designed in close collaboration with Beaupré and Associates Landscape Architects.

The Entrance/Threshold treatments consisted of signage elements that incorporated the federally mandated FIP blade system mounted in a unique way on massive peeled pine log posts, with additional freestanding posts providing a counterpoint.

Extensive landscape treatments at each location involving native plantings, ground contouring and natural rock emplacements completed the design. This project involved specification of graphics and siting for 37 entrances and access points spread around the perimeter of this large park.
